The Türkiye–Africa Business and Economic Forum (TABEF 2025), held on 16–17 October in Istanbul, brought together leaders, policymakers, and innovators from across Africa and Türkiye under the theme “Leveraging Türkiye–Africa Relations for Mutual Gains.”
Organized by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye, the African Union Commission, and DEİK, this fifth edition reaffirmed the growing synergy between two regions bound by vision, opportunity, and shared development goals.

Since its inception in 2016, TABEF has stood as a symbol of Türkiye’s long-term commitment to Africa’s economic transformation. It was founded on three guiding principles: equal partnership, mutual benefit, and sustainable development.
Over the years, the Türkiye–Africa trade volume has grown from USD 5.4 billion in 2003 to over USD 40 billion in 2024, reflecting a consistent rise in trust, capacity, and cooperation. Türkiye’s investments in Africa now exceed USD 10 billion, creating over 16,000 jobs and supporting infrastructure, logistics, and housing projects across the continent.
This steady progress reflects a simple truth, the partnership between Türkiye and Africa is not transactional; it’s transformational. Both sides see long-term opportunities in building industrial capacity, strengthening trade corridors, and accelerating digital and agricultural innovation.

From Cooperation to Strategic Partnership

Türkiye’s trade and investment policy toward Africa has evolved from simple cooperation to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
Under the Medium-Term Program (2025–2027), Türkiye aims to further diversify exports, increase direct investments, and promote banking and financial cooperation to simplify business transactions with African countries.

With 46 Turkish embassies, 38 African embassies in Ankara, and 44 Türkiye–Africa Business Councils, the institutional framework supporting this partnership is stronger than ever.
This infrastructure enables consistent diplomatic, cultural, and commercial engagement, essential for businesses seeking stability and long-term collaboration across borders.
